I just came across another crochet design of mine that I had nearly forgotten about. Here is my Holiday Ornaments Ripple Afghan that I designed for Herrschners using their 2-ply afghan yarn. This was designed as part of their Ripple of the Month series and they are now making it available as a kit, probably just for a limited time.
I’ve been on a crochet marathon this summer. I’ve just completed my 4th afghan since May. It’s been a crazy, crazy crochet-filled summer. The four afghans I’ve done are all for the Afghan of the of the Month Club for Herrschners. Here’s a look at the October/Halloween afghan:
I actually have one more afghan to go before I can officially relax, but this 5th afghan is just a sample for my local yarn shop, so no designing or pattern writing required. Phew!
…with my Crocodile Stitch Afghan and Pillow on the cover!
I was asked to do an afghan a while back for Herrschners and incorporate the Crocodile stitch into it. I knew it was for their yearly Treasury of Afghans Calendar– the month of September to be exact (which I thought was ironic AND great because my daughter was born in September). Wasn’t I surprised when I received a mailing the other day about the calendar and saw that my design had made the cover of the calendar!
For those not familiar with Herrschners’ Treasury of Afghans Calendar, each month of the full color 11″ x11″ calendar features a different afghan. You will receive an accompanying booklet that contains the patterns for each of the 12 afghans. Some of the designs will also include matching pillows. You also receive a pocket-size calendar. Below are some of the other amazing designs that you will find in the 2015 calendar.
You won’t find the calendar for sale on Herrschners’ website, so if you would like to purchase it, you will need to call their customer service phone number. Either the customer service representative answering the phone can take your order, or you might get transferred to another department who takes care of publishing orders. Call toll-free at 1-800-713-1239 Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST.
The publisher’s price is $24.95. The mailing I received offered this for $11.95 plus shipping and handling. I don’t know if this price is available to everyone or only those who received the offer by mail. I do know that quantities are limited. The only way to get these patterns is to buy the calendar. I had a design in the 2013 calendar, which sold out, and now that pattern is not available anywhere.
My Irish Cream Afghan and Pillow from the Herrschners Treasury of Afghans 2013 Calendar
I just thought I’d quickly share my latest design – the Diamond Escapade Afghan. Made with Premier Ever Soft yarn, the afghan is available as a kit for purchase through Herrschners. The kit comes with the yarn, a clear vinyl storage bag, yarn needle, a label for personalization, and instructions.
I haven’t had much to say lately because I’ve just been so busy. But meet Jasper, the newest member of our family! We are fostering him while his mom receives some long-term medical care. Jasper makes the 6th, yes 6th, member of our feline family. And it has been interesting. It’s only been a couple of weeks, progress has been made, but there’s more to go.
In crochet news, I just finished teaching a crochet class at my LYS for my Harvest Home Pillow, which you can find in the Winter 2012 Issue of Crochet! Magazine. I hope to share some photos of my students’ finished projects soon.
In a few weeks, I’ll be teaching a class for my popular design to date – the Bellflower Infinity Scarf.
I have several projects in works, including some for Love of Crochet and Willow Yarns.
Others are completed and coming out later this year and early 2014 in Love of Crochet, Herrschners, Crochet 1-2-3, and Crochet World.
Busy, Busy, Busy!
I just spotted my Polka Dot Poncho design in the latest Herrschners catalog. The poncho is a one size fits girls 4-10 and is made from Sundance Beads yarn, which is SUPER soft and cozy! This pattern can be purchased as a kit from Herrschners.
I just spotted the crochet Vintage Rose Pillows I designed for Herrschners. You can buy the yarn kit through Herrschners. I love the colors! Herrschners also has some great knit and crochet afghan designs in the same color family.
